Alstroemeria 'Tricolor' is notable for its exceptionally large flowers and its unique coloration. The three largest tepals of the flower are coral pink with darker interiors. The narrower tepals are white and yellow with burgundy hatch-marks. The foliage is soft green. Take advantage of the long bloom time and enjoy them in bouquets and flower arrangements. The flowers will hold for up to two weeks. These have been reliably hardy in our gardens. Because they bloom such a long time they are ideal plants for incorporating into mixed perennial borders.

When gathering Alstroemeria flowers, do not use your clippers. Instead, reach down to the base of the flowering stem and give a gentle tug to separate the stem from the plant. This act seems to stimulate the tubers to produce more flowering stems. If you cut the stems, the tubers don't seem to get the message.
