Aster laevis has recently been reclassified as Symphyotrichum laeve. The specific name laevis (laeve) indicates that the five-inch, lance-shaped leaves of this aster are smooth in texture. The leaves themselves lack petioles and clasp the flowering stems. This short selection was made by Brent Horvath of Intrinsic Perennial Gardens and named for his brother Kurt because the original selection first bloomed on his brother's birthday. The medium purple flowers have complementary central golden disks.

Late summer to early autumn.   2 ft. x 18 in.
