 | From A. Girault, Orleans, France.  This classic has been in the trade for many years.  Its eight, broad, overlapping sepals remain cupped for a long time before the flower finally opens flat.  A narrow, deep-red bar is visible in the center of each sepal.  The white filaments show off the red anthers of Clematis `Etoile de Malicorne'. 
 Late spring to early summer; early autumn.  8-10 ft.
