A low, repeat-blooming herbaceous perennial with half-inch bell-shaped flowers, Clematis 'Murasaki no ue' is suitable for the front of a border or in a container. The sepals are a soft purple on the outside. Their frilled tips recurve revealing their pale green interiors. The plant is named for a character in The Tales of Genji, an ancient Japanese novel.
