This was one of the last clematis our friend Kazushige Ozawa patented before his death. Mr. Ozawa often named his clematis after the small villages in Kanagawa, Japan, that he knew as a youth and that is true of 'Oshikiri' (2002). This clematis has continued to wow visitors to our gardens since the year we first planted it. Clematis 'Oshikiri is a seedling from a cross with Clematis texensis that has surprisingly large and rounded bell flowers with brilliant scarlet sepals. The sepals are very thick and their recurved tips display the creamy white interior of the flowers. All of our Clematis are two year old plants that are suitable for immediate planting in your garden.

All summer.  8-10 ft.
