Found in various parts of the East Coast and the Midwest in meadows and woodlands, Dodecathoen media are true heralds of spring. The flowering scapes rise up from a flattened basal rosette made up of rounded lance-shaped leaves. These stems can have as many as twenty nodding flowers, each looking like a slender shuttlecock. Their petals are swept back exposing the pointed junction of the yellow stamens in front. The seedlings we offer here are from a pink population.
