Lavandula x intermedia 'Dutch' is a classic compact lavender that has long been known for its attractive appearance even during the winter due to its silvery gray foliage. This is an older hybrid dating back to the 1920's. The foliage is a little wider than many forms. Although it is reported to be shy of flowering, we have no trouble getting it to bloom in our mediterranean border where we top-dress with grit. The violet flowers are quite pungent.
