Phormiums have proven winter hardy and drought tolerant in our gardens. Once in a decade they suffer severe frost damage. We do like to give them occasional summer water to keep them looking their best. In return, we are rewarded with a display of bold, wide foliage that, in the case of Phormium 'Pink Stripe', is suffused with pink and edged in a Victorian shade of the same. These are wonderful in containers, but do protect them during cold winter days. Summer. 5-6 ft. x 5 ft. Brown Red flowers Sun Zones 8, 9, 10 |
