The flowering red currants are one of the joys of the Pacific Northwest spring. Before the leaves are formed on Ribes sanguineum 'Pulborough Scarlet', clusters of pendant dark red buds appear, slowly opening to bright red tubular flowers. This vigorous form has darker flowers with white centers. Provides both food and nesting cover for hummingbirds. A Great Plant Picks selection.
