We have grown Agapanthus 'Kingston Blue' for many years in a dry, no-water border where we have been able to compare it with other smaller Agapanthus. 'Kingston Blue' is compact, with relatively large floral heads that measure up to five inches across. The flowers are richly colored fading a bit when fully open. Its strap foliage is narrow and stained purple at the base. This is an excellent perennial for smaller Northwest gardens.
