The evergreen blades of Alopecurus pratensis 'Aureus' can be entirely yellow or green with a yellow stripe but the overall effect is that of a gold grass. We cut this back several times a year, always with the same results - rapid new growth. The tufted gold mounds are especially lovely in combination with dark foliaged plants.
