Asarum splendens has very attractive silver mottled, dark green evergreen foliage which deserves a special place in the woodland garden. The thickened leaves are so lovely you often miss the odd, 2-inch, 3-lobed flowers that rest on the ground below. Give it regular watering during the dry months. This spreads by short rhizomes and forms loose colonies. A Great Plant Picks selection.
