This is a surprisingly different Butterfly bush with numerous rounded clusters of small yellow orange flowers at the branch terminals. It is the "roundness" of these clusters that gives the plant both its specific and its common names. The attractive 8-inch leaves are dark green, lance-shaped and deeply veined. They are covered with a brownish down on their undersides. Because the fragrant flowers bloom on the previous year's wood, make sure that you prune this shrub after it has finished blooming and not early in the spring. Buddleia globosa is found in the wild in Chile, Argentina and Peru.
Early summer. 10-15 ft. x 10-15 ft.
