Native to rocky crags and cliffs on the Balkan Penninsula, Campanula lanata is a long-blooming perennial that has made itself at home in our mixed borders. The common name, Woolly bellflower, attests to the fine hairs that cover its heart-shaped leaves and stems giving them a woolly feel. The spikes of down-facing white flowers are attractive. The five tepal have fused into a tube with their tips recurving slightly.
