The grass-like leaves of this evergreen, fountain-shaped sedge are less than half-an-inch wide. They are glossy with clean gold centers and are edged dark green. Over the years, Carex oshiemensis 'Evergold' has become one of the most popular sedges because of its smaller size and its versatility. Use it to border walkways, to create evergreen structure in garden beds, or simply to form a ground cover. This durable plant is found in woodland areas of Honshu, Japan.
