During the spring and summer, Caryopteris incana serves as an attractive background plant in our low-water border. Its three-inch, gray-green leaves work well with the bright flowers of summer. Once autumn approaches, however, the rich violet blue flowers formed in rounded clusters in the upper leaf-axils of the shrub really make a strong impression. A valuable late-blooming shrub.
