Our friend Tamara Paulat introduced us to this Oregon native. She uses it in combination with other low-summer-water shrubs to form a privacy screen. Tamara describes this selection of the species as being open in habit with branches that are somewhat lateral in growth. The beautiful light blue clusters of flowers are attractive to native pollinators. This evergreen shrub has attractive gray branches with small, gray-green, wedge shaped leaves. It is tolerant of poor soils and is fast-growing.
