New Zealand. We have grown Chionochloa rubra tussock grass on a hot somewhat dry slope for many years but have never been able to produce enough plants to list it in our catalogue. The fine, hair-like foliage has highlights of orange and copper and moves so gracefully in the breeze that customers ask about it freguently. Pale straw-colored infloresences rise above the grass.
