The evergreen, somewhat rounded lance-shaped leaves are crimped on their margins like a pie crust. Their mint-green color contrasts nicely with the reddish stems, as does the whiteness of their lightly woolly reverses. In habit, this is compact and rounded. It was named for the site where it was collected in Crete.
