We grow this clematis up the stump of a dead tree on nylon netting. What we have come to appreciate about this extra-hardy plant is the fact that it is always in bloom during the growing season. It never covers itself in flowers, but continues to produces a more modest display continuously throughout the summer and into the fall. The small bowl-shaped, creamy white flowers nod in terminal clusters. They have four sepals with a very showy boss of yellow stamens within. Clematis 'Anita' (Zwijnenburg, 1988) is a cross between C. potaninii var. fargesii and C. tangutica. This large vine has somewhat small, gray green, pinnate foliage. All of our Clematis are two year old plants that are suitable for immediate planting in your garden.
