Pink, large-flowered clematis are mostly pale pink or rose-colored. It is unusual to find one that is close to salmon pink like Clematis 'Little Mermaid' ('Asao' x 'Hakuba'). Developed by Japanese hybridizer Takashi Watanabe in 1994, the semi-double flowers are mid-sized, about 4 to 4.5 inches wide. Each sepal has a purplish central bar that fades as the flowers age.
