Clematis 'Natascha' (Westphal) is an open-pollinated seedling of Clematis 'Nelly Moser' raised in 1989 in Germany. Six to eight very pointed sepals form the star-shaped flowers. The sepals have grooves of a deeper color running from their tips to their bases. The showy filaments are red crowned with red-mauve anthers. Even the reverse of the flower is distinct with a white central bar running down each sepal. All of our Clematis are two year old plants that are suitable for immediate planting in your garden.

Late spring to early summer; late summer.  6-8 ft.

Early flowering in the spring on the previous year's growth. If you hard prune, you eliminate most or all of the early blooms. Instead, groom this after flowering by cutting back the top one-third to one-half of some stems. This encourages new growth for possible summer bloom.
