We originally trialed Clematis 'Princess Red' (M. Chikuma) as a red Clematis crispa which is the form it most resembles. We have been amazed at how many months this vine blooms. The flowers are thick and fleshy to the touch and measure about 1 1/12 inches in length. Their four sepals recurve strongly revealing the interior red. The narrow leaves are arrowhead shaped and often are stained dark burgundy. All of our Clematis are two year old plants that are suitable for immediate planting in your garden.
