The parents are Clematis 'The President' and C. 'Violet Charm' both of which are garden-worthy plants. In color, 'Danielle' resembles 'The President' with its vivid purple blue sepals. The red anther tips and white filaments complement the flower color. This is compact enough to grow in a container. Late spring; autumn. 6-8 ft. Purple Blue flowers *Sun, Part Shade Zone 5-9*
Because this blooms on the previous year's wood, do not cut it back hard at the end of winter. Groom it after its first round of bloom in the spring. Be sure to feed it at that time to encourage good new growth and bloom.
