The flowers of 'First Kiss' are relatively large and showy with the richly colored sepals dramatically extending spider-like over the white and pink petals. In addition, the dark red flower stems and the halo of red on the margins of the young leaves are ideal complements. Epimedium grandiflorums are herbaceous, the leaves die back in winter and new growth emerges with the flower stems in spring.

Spring.  12 in. x 18 in.

Rosy Lavender and White flowers

Shade, Part Shade     Zones 5, 6, 7, 8
Epimediums in general grow well under deciduous trees often tolerating somewhat dry situations. We have also grown Epimediums in the full sun and have found that they increase more quickly than in shade but their leaves will often will turn crisp in the hot summer sun. We have enjoyed them the most in open or dappled shade.
