In our rockery Eriogonum compositum has formed an impressive evergreen mound about 2.5 feet across. It has shaped itself attractively around some larger boulders. The leathery blue gray leaves take on rosy, even red, tones in the late fall and early winter. In spring the bloom spikes rise to 8 inches. This is a native of the east end of our Columbia River Gorge.
