Walking up the path out of the new shade bed into the light, we are struck by the stained glass quality of the sun shining through the beautiful leaves of Forsythia viridissima var. koreana 'Kumson'. They are dark green, somewhat rounded and veined in yellow. The veining is most pronounced on the young foliage but is still present on older leaves. The young branches are purple. And at the end of winter we are rewarded with an intense display of bright yellow flowers.
