This hardy selection has been tested to 0º F. The dark green somewhat glossy leaves of Gardenia 'Klehm's Hardy' (especially when they are young) remain evergreen, so it is very useful as a structural shrub for smaller gardens. The real delight, of course, comes from late spring throughout the summer when the white flowers perfume the air. The two-inch flowers with 5-to-6 petals nestle at the tip of the stems.
