Because Haberlea rhodopensis is found in shaded limestone areas in the Balkans, we have sited this in a part shade rockery in front of our farm house. Even though we have slightly acid soil it has grown well for us for many years. The foliage of Haberlea rhodopensis is semi-glossy, scalloped and measures 2 inches long and 1 inch wide. The leaves form tight rosettes. These increase by offsets over time. Loose umbels of inch-wide flowers adorn the diminutive plant.
Spring to early summer. 1.5 in. x 8 in.
