The numerous bloom spikes of Hebe 'Primley Gem' ('Margery Fish') form in a whorl near the branch terminals bearing bright violet flowers that fade to pale lavender. The crisp, lance-shaped leaves are somewhat wavy. They have red central veins and a blush of red near their edges. This attractive plant performed exceptionally well against difficult competition for ten years but was badly injured in the cold during December 2008. We have replaced it because of its excellence.
