Texas, New Mexico. Hesperaloe parviflora produce dark gray green yucca-like leaves that can grow from 24 to 30 inches in length. This is an ideal plant to try in the dry border where its blade-like leaves are a perfect contrast with silvery shrubs. When this blooms, it sends up a 3-foot spike with rich coral orange flowers in a loose arrangement at the end of the spike.
