There have been many good selections of oakleaf hydrangea, but Hydrangea quercifoia 'Alice' selected by Michael Dirr has proven to be one of the best. It is a robust shrub with deeply lobed leaves that turn exceptionally brilliant in the autumn. The panicles of white flowers can measure up to 14 inches long assuring a great floral display. As they age the flowers turn pink with pistachio tones. Like all of the oakleaf hydrangeas as they mature, the exfoliating bark on the main branches becomes fully visible after leaf fall adding yet another point of interest.

Midsummer to autumn.  12 ft. x 12 ft.
