The dark calyces of Lavandula 'Ana Luisa' (Van Hevelingen, 1998) show-off the rich violet corolla of the flowers on foot-long stems. Very fragrant. June to July. 3 ft. x 4 ft. This is a cross between L. angustifolia ssp. angustifolia and L. lanata. Lavenders need full sun and very good drainage. Because of our rainy winters, we amend our soil with 1/4 ten gravel and top dress with the same to keep plant stems and foliage from resting on wet soil.
