Found across a wide range from New Brunswick down through the Great Lakes region south to Texas, this hardy perennial thrives in damp, even swamp-like conditions.The mid-green leaves are lance-shaped, occasionally bronze tinged. Upright stems bear racemes that are up to 14 inches in length. The two-lipped tubular flowers measure two inches in length.
