The name Lonicera nitida 'Red Tips' describes the color of the new leaves that emerge red purple, turn reddish brown and then green as they mature. The glossy, half-inch, rounded foliage comes in pairs down the burgundy stems. Many of the green leaves have a hint of a red central vein. This many branched shrub is easy to grow and easy to shape.
