Lonicera periclymenum 'Late Dutch' is a vigorous, purple stemmed climber. The flowers are dark pink on the outside and white fading to yellow inside. Rich red berries are produced while the plant is still blooming profusely and hang on to become food for the birds when winter weather sets in. The delicate fragrance seduces everyone walking by our old wrought iron fence, and many folks stop to watch the myriad pollinators who also enjoy the flowers. Although the vines are deciduous, between the late red berries, the twisted trunks that develop as the plants age and the purple tint of the early new foilage `Late Dutch' delivers a lot of interest throughout the year.

Late spring to late summer.  10-13 ft.
