With the rise of "tropicalismo" came the introduction of this lush, hardy banana to our gardens. Although Musa basjoo can get tall, ours is in the 5-to-6-foot range, with long bright green blades. We grow it with Cannas and Arundo donax 'Versicolor' in our Dinosaur Bed. It has never flowered for us, but with more heat it should bear small inedible bananas. Summer. 10 ft. x 12 ft.
