Give a kid a new color crayon and watch out. In our garden, the evergreen black strap foliage of Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Nigrescens' is commingled with yellow variegated Arabis ferdinandi-coburgi 'Old Gold', Athyrium nipponicum 'Pictum' and Trifolium 'Purpurescens Quadrifolium'. Inspired customers went wild with their own combinations. A good plant for containers because it is evergreen and seems to compliment just about any companion you can give it. The flowers appear just above the foilage and are followed by shiny dark fruits. A Great Plant Picks selection.
