This Penstemon barbatus cross is definitely hardier than the Garden Hybrid Penstemon that we grow. The somewhat rounded leaves of `Elfin Pink' form a dense, woody, evergreen mound that is attractive throughout the year. In the spring, 18-inch bloom spikes bear colorful flowers with distinct interior guide lines. The lower three lobes of the flowers recurve back in welcome to incoming pollinators.
