We found this penstemon at Buena Creek Nursery in Southern California and have been amazed at its vigor and beauty. In size, it lives up to its name, for it has grown quite wide and the amazing burgundy flowering stems are exceptionally tall. Colorwise, the flowers are a saturated red purple. Penstemon `Purple Giant' has survived in our garden through two relatively mild winters in a well-drained, sunny site. Summer to early autumn. 40 in. x 40 in.
