There is almost no more reliable rock garden plant than Penstemon pinifolius 'Mersea Yellow'. This is an evergreen shrublet. Coniferous in appearance (as its specific name indicates), it surprises by sending out spikes of narrow tubular flowers that are popular with hummingbirds.
