Fellow penstemon lover David Brown shared seed with us of this form of Penstemon richardsonii from his garden. This form of the species has turned out to be a fine grower in our sunny south-facing rockery. The arching branches, which rise from a woody base, measure more than two-feet long. Dark, shiny serrated leaves show off the inch-long cotton-candy pink flowers perfectly. The inflorescence measures almost a foot long, meaning that there is a long season of bloom up the stem.
