The leaves of Persicaria virginiana (Tovara virginiana) have bold mahogany chevron patches. Tall flower spikes create a haze of coral-pink flowers. Although the individual flowers are small, the hummingbirds still love them. Self sows, a trait that can be useful in a drier shady situation.
