Phlomis lanata is definitely a sensational small shrublet when it is in bloom. The intense yellow flowers look vivid against the small woolly sage-green foliage. They appear in sets of mostly 2 whorls on the terminals and also at the ends of axillary stems. We have not tested this in our garden yet for hardiness. The brownish stems are also lightly haired. The leaf reverses are so densely woolly they are almost white.
Late summer to early fall. 20 in. x 30 in.
