Although the literature puts Pieris japonicus 'Little Heath' as small and compact, our old specimen is now over 5 feet tall and 4 feet wide. The foliage is narrow, leathery and rich green with a varying margin of silver or beige white. In the cold weather, hints of pink stain the foliage. The winter flower buds are soft mauve pink and open to white bells in the early spring. They are long lasting in a vase as well.
