For those who need a vigorous groundcover that hugs the ground, we can recommend Pratia pedunculata 'County Park'. Coming from Australia, you might not think it would tolerate our heavy wet clay and shady conditions. But this blue-flowered species is very adaptable. We've tried it around stepping stones and it has even survived modest foot traffic.
