Japan, Korea. Rhaphiolepis umbellatum minor is a pleasing small evergreen shrub with dark green, glossy leaves that have pale green reverses. Near the tips of the stems, the contrasting young foliage is apple green with reddish margins. Many of the leaves have wavy edges giving the entire plant an undulating appearance. The leaves are arranged in stiffly upright whorls up reddish stems. After 12 years, our plant is over 3 feet tall with similar width.
