No matter when we visit Salvia arizonica during the growing season, it seems to be in bloom. The small size of the flowers is more than compensated for by the number of them. This forms a tough, brittle-stemmed shrublet that is very airy in appearance. Over the years that we have grown it, it has crept to a fairly large size, but that is what has kept new stems emerging that continue to bloom. Don't forget to water this from time to time during extra hot periods.
