The matte green foliage of Salvia microphylla 'Hot Lips' is highly aromatic. But it is the numerous flowers that leave a lasting impression. The pure white flowers look as if their broad lower lips have been dipped in brilliant red. Although they are small, they are numerous and when viewed together create a confetti-like effect. We cut this back at the end of winter above the lowest set of green leaves to promote new growth and to tidy up the plant.
