These are seedlings from a reliably consistent seed strain. Little bluestems are some of the most beautiful small grasses for low water gardens. Their blue summer foliage turns purple-red in the autumn just as the seedheads of the inflorescenses turn silver. Schizachyrium scoparium 'Prairie Blues' forms tight clumps and is upright in habit if grown in lean soil with little water. Late summer to early autumn. 3 ft. x 12 in. Sun Zones 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 |
